Dating Software Options
The Options Section has 4 Sub-Sections. By clicking the ‘Options’ button one will automatically be taken to the first Sub-Section, i.e. Main Options.Options/Main Options
These are the main options of the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Admin CP and the powered website.
Site Title – This lets one change the title of the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website. The site title is displayed on all the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website pages. Simply type in anything in the site title text box and hit the modify button. Changes will be instantly visible. One would want to have this setting changed to something like “N.Y. Singles” or “International Dating Site”.
Info e-mail – This is the e-mail address which is visible to all the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website members and is used to communicate between the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website Administrator and its Members. All questions, suggestions, problems will be sent to the Administrator. The Administrator’s Mass Mail and Bulk Mail are also sent through this address. Type in a valid e-mail address or leave the default, but unique ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software e-mail address connected to the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software host server. Don’t forget to press the ‘Modify’ button; otherwise the changes will not be saved.
Text on Main Page – This setting lets the Administrator and owner of ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software edit the Main Members Page or Home Page of the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software website. It is an important setting and one should write something that would attract members to enter the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website. Anything can be written, like features, benefits, descriptions, statistics, or simply a short welcome message. Click the ‘Modify’ button for the changes to take effect.
Change Administration Password and Re-enter Administration Password – The ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Administration CP is protected by a password in order to deny unsanctioned access. It is recommended to have a password made up of lowercase letters and numbers. A password of less than 6 characters is considered to be unsafe. And always write down your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Admin CP password into a physical notepad or diary and keep it safe.
The ‘Defaults’ will change all the settings into default mode. Warning! All settings will be nullified and lost. Do not press this button unless you need to.
Logo – This option lets ABK-Soft Dating Software Administrators change the logo, which is displayed on the dynamically generated PHP community web-pages. Clicking the ‘Browse’ button will function-call a dialog box where any image file can be chosen for upload to server from the community software Administrator’s personal computer automatically.
Options/Site Options
These are the main site options of a ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website. Dating website settings, paid members settings and much more. Do not forget to press the ‘Modify’ button in order to save your changes.
The user can change the template – By checking (putting a tick into by clicking) this box the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Administrator will make it possible for all users and members of his/her ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website to choose the template for the dating website or social network. Every user will have his individual template setting.
The user can change the language – This ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Admin CP setting lets all members and users of your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website set their preferred dating site language. Every user will have his individual language setting.
The user can change the language and the template at the top of page – When this setting is enabled (the check-box has a tick inside) the language and template selection for the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website is available in the top right-hand corner of every page powered by ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software. Otherwise, if this setting is disabled, users will be able to change their language and template from their ‘Member Settings’, unless the above two Admin CP settings are disabled (i.e. The user can change the template and language settings).
Only the orientation needed in search - Online search results are displayed by relevant orientation for the registered PHP social network user. If this setting is enabled the ‘Online Now!’ search feature on the Home Page of ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered dating sites displays only relevant searches, i.e. if a user is “Man looking for Woman” he will only see “Woman looking for Man” users in the ‘Online Now!’ section. With this setting off users will see all online users when in the ‘Online Now!’ dating section. Note that the ‘Viewed Me’, ‘I Viewed’ and ‘Featured’ tabs in this section are not filtered by orientation. Users search on main page – By enabling this function the Search area will be displayed on the Main Page of the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website. This will result in quicker searches without having to enter the website and without having to click the ‘Search’ area in the main menu. Many members will find this feature enabled very efficient and comfortable.
Featured users on main page – By enabling this function the main page of your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website will contain a ‘Featured Members’ area. This means that the most popular members (based on the number of views) will be displayed along with their photos. The Main Page powered by ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software will eventually attract more members who are interested in the best and featured members of your dating website.
Number of photos on main page – Enter the maximum number of featured member photos that will be displayed on the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered Main Page. Visitors of your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered social network or dating community with low display resolutions will not at all enjoy scrolling through 20 photos just to get to the ‘Sign Up’ button. Keeping the number of photos on main page from 4 to 8 is recommended and proves to be efficient.
Size of photos on main page – ‘r’ – regular size, ‘s’ – small, ‘m’ – medium, ‘b’ – big. By typing one of these letters you will change the size of the featured members’ photos displayed on the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website Main Page. Other letters will not be processed by ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software and an error message will be displayed. By having small (s) photos a larger number of photos (see above) may be set. If you have set the number of photos on main page setting to 2 (a featured male and female) it is recommended to display the big (b) versions of their photos.
One-step join – This option will display the Registration area on the main page of ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered websites. Many members and visitors will find this feature turned on comfortable as it makes a more rapid registration possible. The combination of Featured Members with One-step Join will make visitors want to register at once having looked at your best ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website members.
Enable md5-hash for passwords – MD5-hash is a special data encryption algorithm used in PHP. ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software can encode all the passwords into md5-hash. This will result in more security but less probability of recovering lost passwords. Some ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software host servers may have problems with transmitting non-UTF-8 e-mail data. Make sure this function is switched on if your users complain about receiving unreadable e-mail messages.
UTF-8 e-mail encoding for subject enabled – UTF-8 (see above for more information) technology is used to encode Subject headers for all e-mails sent using the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software E-Mail Engine. Some host servers may not support non-UTF-8 encoded subject as they may be unreadable in some countries and some languages.
3DCity enabled – One of the newest features of ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 3DCity can be disabled or enabled by clicking the checkbox. 3DCity is a professionally developed community software module. It is a three-dimensional (3D) virtual city environment where PHP social network users can walk, talk, act and just ‘hang out’ with one another. Blogs enabled – Blogging is very popular today being comfortable and limitless. Blogs are like forums, but much simpler. ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software lets you turn this feature off for all members. This might result in less spam messages and adverts. Check the box to enable Blogs.
Games enabled – Turns on the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Flash Games for all members, including paid (Gold) members. Check the box to enable Flash Games.
3D Chat enabled – Makes the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software 3D Chat feature available to all members, unless the ‘Paid members only’ box is ticked below. Check the box to enable 3D Chat for all members.
Flash Chat enabled – The ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Flash Chat function will not be available to your members unless this setting is switched on. Check the box to enable Flash Chat.
Forum enabled – Forum will be made available if this setting is turned on. ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Forum feature is great if your members prefer forums to blogs. Check the box to enable the Forum.
Biorhythm enabled – Biorhythm is a powerful and needy function for those members who know what biorhythm is. In some countries biorhythm is not popular and ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software gives you the ability to switch it off. Check the box to enable Biorhythm.
Video Chat enabled – Enables the powerful Video Chat engine for all the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website members. The ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software host server does not allow video data transmission due to limited bandwidth you will want to turn this feature off. Check the box to enable ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Video Chat.
Audio Chat enabled – As with Video Chat, some cheap servers might not want to process large amounts of packets and turning the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Audio Chat function off might be useful. Check the box to enable the Audio Chat feature for all members.
Top 5 enabled – Switching on this function will display the five most rated users (best users of your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website) in the Top-5 section in the top menu of the home page. Check the box to enable the Top 5 feature.
Rating enabled – Members will be able to rate by voting for each other and the most rated members will be displayed in Top 5 section. ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software gives you the ability to turn this feature off as some dating members do not like to be rated in fear of being inferior. Check the box to enable the Rating feature.
Gallery enabled – By enabling this feature a ‘Gallery’ option in the Home Page Menu will be displayed. The ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Gallery contains New Photo Albums and Most Popular Photo Albums (based on the number of views). Members’ Albums will be automatically added to the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Gallery. Users will still be able to create Personal Photo Albums with this feature turned off, but there will be no Gallery section on the Home Page. Check the box to enable the Gallery feature.
Recorder enabled – The recorder lets ABK-Soft powered PHP community members record their own audio (and, in the near future, video) messages that are uploaded to the AbleDating community script host server for other members to download or stream. Check the box to enable the Recorder feature.
Videogallery enabled – With the new YouTube-like integration ABK-Soft AbleDating PHP Community Software has reached a higher level of communication, entertainment and e-Socializing. By enabling this feature PHP dating script owners will have a full-featured streaming (embedded dedicated server-side *.flv files) video gallery like YouTube. Click the checkbox to enable the Video Gallery function.
Vacations enabled – The ‘Vacation’ status lets PHP community software users have an “I’m on Vacation: [reason]” status displayed in their profiles when they are planning to leave the social network for some time. This status will keep other social network members informed on the temporary unavailability of a member that is ‘On Vacation’. Enable the Vacations feature by checking the box.
The texts need to be checked – With this setting enabled you will have to verify and check every Profile text, including ‘About Me’ and others. ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software has a special Text Filter feature (see below) which automatically filters all the explicit and illicit content, but it is not 100% secure, especially when it comes to non-English languages.
Text filter enabled – This setting switched on will make sure that all explicit content (swearing and bad words) in your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website Profiles is cut out. Moreover, ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Text Filter will cut out all the long numbers (from 5 digits and up) in order to avoid your members to give out their ICQ numbers and telephone numbers. This will make sure that your members will continue to use your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered dating or social service instead of traditional mail or chat outside your reach.
The photos need to be checked – The photos in your member’s profiles will need to be verified by you, the Admin of your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website. With this feature turned off you might end up having pornographic images, adverts and fake photos on your dating website or social network community.
The audio files need to be checked – As with the Photos filter (see above) this feature will direct all the uploaded audio files for verification to your Admin CP area. ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software cannot automatically filter Audio adverts, jingles, swearing and other explicit content; you will have to do it on your own or just let it be.
The videos need to be checked – As with the Audio Filter (see above) ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software will direct all your members’ videos to a special Admin CP area. Videos may contain pornography, advertising and other explicit content which will make your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered community unsafe for your site’s users.
Inactive user time-out in minutes – The time-out automatically displays the status of the member as “Offline” if he (or she) is inactive (does not click on any links or chat with anyone on your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website) for more than the set amount of time in minutes. This ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software feature makes sure that if a member is away, did not log out, or has the “Remember Me” login feature enabled he/she will not upset other members contacting him/her and not getting an answer.
Days while the user has status new - ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered websites will display new members on the front pages. A member will be considered as a new member for a limited amount of time (in days). This amount of time can be set by typing a number in this text box. It is not recommended to keep members statuses as ‘New Member’ for a long time, as these might get bulky and make your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered front page look inaccurate with many members, especially if your daily visit flow is great in number.
Number of minutes for which the user can hide his profile - ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software lets members hide their profiles for a reasonable amount of time (in minutes). Such members will not be visible when other members search for them or their matching criteria. This might be useful if some of your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software members are constantly being ‘bugged’ and messaged by other users; by hiding their profiles they can rest for a limited period of time, set here.
Minimum user age – The minimum member age that your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website will accept and work with.
Maximum user age – The maximum member age that your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered community will register as a member. If, for example, you plan to have a teenager social network – you will want to set the Maximum User Age to 19 and the Minimum User Age (see above) to 13. Most dating websites are for members of age 18 and over, while many forums accept users from 13 and up. ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software lets you control the age you want to work with.
Maximum size of one photo – The maximum filesize of one photo in a member’s Profile, in Megabytes (1Mb = 1024kb). ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software will not accept any photos that are over the set limit.
Maximum size of one video – The maximum filesize of one video message in the Profile section. The limit is set in Megabytes. Larger files will be filtered automatically by ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software.
Maximum size of one audio – The maximum filesize of one audio message in the Member Profile area. Files that are larger in size than the set limit (in MB (megabytes)) will not be accepted.
The next sub-section of the Site Options refers to and lets you control the basic ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Affiliate Program settings. The other Affiliate settings are found in the ‘Affiliates’ section of the Admin CP. More information about Affiliates and ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Affiliate Programs is found in the ‘Affiliates’ section too.
Money that is given to an Affiliate when he brings a member – This setting lets you set the amount (in USD) of money that will be automatically transferred to your Affiliate for bringing a client. ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software has an Affiliate referral system which traces members who have come from the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered websites of your registered Affiliates. Note that 0.1 stands for $0.10, while 1.03, for example, stands for $1.03.
Percentage from Gold Membership purchase – The percentage (%) of the paid price of an ‘Affiliate-brought’ Gold Membership registration. In other words ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software will automatically pay a percentage to one of your Affiliates for bringing a member to your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website who registers as your Gold Member.
The percentage of an affiliate's money that is given to him from another affiliate he has brought – The ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Affiliate System does not only track and pay for the members brought by your Affiliates. The system also pays for new Affiliates (Affiliate B) that are brought by your Affiliates (Affiliate A). This setting lets you set the percentage of the payouts to Affiliate B that Affiliate A will get. For example, if Affiliate B earns USD 100 by bringing you new members, Affiliate A will get USD 35 (if this setting is set to 35% by default) simply because he is tied to Affiliate B. Note that Affiliate B will not earn less.
Options/Database
This section deals with ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software host database settings without having to meddle with the actual database configuration file (…/include/config/db.php), which saves a lot of time.
Hostname – This is the host address to the actual ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Database (or databases) Pathname (location on server). Without this your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered website will not be able to hold a members database, for example. If you have the Multi-Domain License of ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software you can set many powered websites share one database by providing one hostname. In this way you may have a network of social network sites or communities with shared members.
Database – This setting lets you rename your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software database. A hostname (see above) can contain many databases for different websites (if you have the MDL Version of the software). For example, if you have 3 websites on different servers in different countries you may want to keep all the databases in one secure place (MySQL server). Dating Site A will have, for example, ‘my-dating-database.com’ as hostname and ‘siteA-db’ as database name, Dating Site B will have ‘my-dating-database.com’ as host name and ‘siteB-db’ as database name, and so on. Each user will have its own User and Password settings (see below). Note that the host server must be setup to receive external MySQL database connections.
User – The username to the ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Database. If you have a server with many databases for different dating community websites make sure that you don’t get the database usernames mixed up.
Password – This is the password to an ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software Database. Like the username (see above) this must not be mixed up if you have many databases. If you have many ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software powered websites sharing one database, then the username and password must be the same (set in every Admin CP of each of your dating websites).
Options/Images
The Images options let you setup the limitations of certain images submitted by your ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software members. This sub-section also lets you setup the Automatic Image Editing System used by ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software code.
Logo title – This option lets you enter a name for all the pages powered by ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software. Simply type in your website’s name and press ‘Modify’ to apply changes.
Logo size – This setting will enable you to modify the look of your logo title (see above). Enter a size from 0 to 5, with 0 being the smallest size and 5 the largest.
Quality – ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software has a special Image encoding system which automatically compresses (and resizes, see below) all user images. This cuts back on traffic expenses, especially when dealing with many member images. The range for this setting is from 0 to 100, with 75-80 being an optimal size vs. quality value. A value of 0 gives minimum JPEG image filesize but the quality of the image will be the poorest (maximum compression). A value of 100 will result in outstanding picture quality with a large filesize (no compression).
The next group of settings comes in double values, i.e. height and width in pixels. The settings will be explained for height and width settings together.
Large photo width/height – The large photos are those images which are displayed when one clicks the thumbnail of a user photo to view the full size photo. ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software does not resize large photos; this setting is actually a limitation to photo resolution, i.e. a user will not be able to upload a photo which is larger than 400 by 400 (default setting) pixels in resolution.
Medium photo width/height – Medium photos are shown on the Home Page and in Member Profiles if there is only one member photo (i.e. there is enough space for it to be medium sized). ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software automatically resized Large photos (see above) and makes them fit the Medium photo height and width parameters set here.
Small photo width/height – Small photos are displayed along with the search results and in lists (Online Now list, etc.). Set the suitable width and height in pixels and ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software will automatically resize, cut and morph the members’ large photos to this (Small) size.
User photo width/height – User photos are displayed on the Main page. ABK-Soft AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software will resize large photo versions to be accurately and neatly displayed, and save traffic.
