Dating Script Database

Both AbleSpace 1.0 Community Script and AbleDating 2.4 Dating Software run on databases with content, media and settings. All PHP Dating Software like phpFox, aeDating and Dolphin run on databases as well. Many online business entrepreneurs are not satisfied by other dating scripts and community software and would wish to switch from their old website engine to another one. The one thing that usually stops the switch is the database incompatibility issues, i.e. not being able to save the old content, and more importantly old member profiles.

AbleDating 2.4 Dating Script and AbleSpace 1.0 Social Network Builder have a database import feature which allows you to import your old media and user profile (including passwords) databases. This will allow you to change the engine, without having to start from scratch. All old users will be already there from your old database, most media, like videos, photos, music, etc. can also be imported.

The current versions of ABK-Soft’s AbleDating and AbleSpace are fully compatible with phpFox and Dolphin dating scripts. This means that you can instantly import your database without fear of losing any data from your previous phpFox or Dolphin powered websites.

You can import your old Dolphin Dating Software Database in a few minutes (depending on the database size). Hover your mouse over the Import button in the AbleDating and AbleSpace Administration Menus and select the Import Dolphin sub-section.

Directory With Photos - Enter the directory of the dating member images into this field. This directory has to be hosted on the same server as AbleDating and/or AbleSpace. Simply copy your member photos directory from your old Dolphin server to your new server, renaming the folder if necessary, and type in the folder name here. For example, if your old folder containing Dolphin dating script Member Photos is called ‘mem_photos’, upload it and all the contents to your running AbleDating or AbleSpace server, and type in mem_photos into this Directory With Photos field. DO NOT HIT THE IMPORT BUTTON BEFORE YOU FILL IN ALL THE IMPORT SETTINGS.

Media Table - Enter the name of the media table from your old Dolphin dating script database. The name of the media table is usually media. This table contains the media information from your old dating site.

User Table - profiles is usually the default name for the User Table, which contains the relevant entries with profile data for each and every dating website member.

Extra Info - Check this box if you want to generate extra info that is not included in the Dolphin database. It is recommended to leave this box checked in order to fully import all the data that can be imported.

Truncate - Some database entries can be too long for AbleDating and AbleSpace PHP community scripts to import. Truncation may be necessary. Check this box to avoid truncation and incompatibility issues.

Start - Hit this button to start the importing process. The process may take anywhere from 20 seconds to 20 minutes and over, depending on the size of your Dolphin database.

IMPORTANT: To avoid damaging AbleDating 2.4 and AbleSpace 1.0 dating database structures, please resort to the assistance of ABK-Soft’s Technical Support Teams. Importing databases is for advanced users, make sure that you know what you are doing before trying to import an old Dolphin database.

Importing a phpFox Database is much easier than a Dolphin one because you do not have to upload anything to your hosting server. All database info can be uploaded automatically from your local machine. Note that these databases have to be exported from phpFox first, please refer to the phpFox Dating Script Documentation or Support Service.

There are five databases that need to be uploaded along with their tables, these are:

Users – the dating script member profile database,
Gallery – the photo/video/audio galleries for each user,
Blogs – the blogs content database,
Mail – mail or personal messages (PM) database,
Groups – groups configuration and content database,
Events – events database.

To start uploading a database click the Upload Base link next to the database that you want to upload. Select the file on your local machine (PC) by clicking the Browse button or entering the full file path, and click the Upload button. The database will be uploaded to the AbleDating Dating Software or AbleSpace Community Script hosting server.

It is important to make sure that each database (listed above) contains the following necessary tables for the database rebuild process to run smoothly:

Database - Table(s):
Users – user;
Gallery – main;
Blogs – journal, comment;
Mail – mail;
Groups – group_name, group_main, group_gallery, group_member, group_forum;
Events – events, event_invite.

IMPORTANT: To avoid damaging AbleDating 2.4 and AbleSpace 1.0 dating database structures, please request the assistance of ABK-Soft’s Technical Support Teams. Importing databases is not recommended for beginners.
